Bookings for Russia’s largest and best-known exhibition are well underway
As the largest trade show in Russia, ‘MosBuild’ is the best-known exhibition in the region, attracting market leaders and many other big names. In 2009, a record 2,483 exhibitors took part in ‘MosBuild’, representing 45 countries and displaying the full range of products, services and equipment for the building and interiors industries in Russia, Eastern Europe and the CIS.
The continued success of the event is a testament to its reputation, as the International Event Manager, Darryl Pawsey, comments: “MosBuild is valued by a huge variety of companies around the world. I have been lucky enough to see companies introduced to the Russian market through MosBuild and watch them establish a niche in the market. Russia is a massive country and as the nation’s commercial centre, Moscow experiences a great deal of activity in the building and interiors sectors. MosBuild is arguably the most effective forum for business in Russia and the CIS.”
In 2010, ‘MosBuild’ will take place on 6 – 9 April, at Moscow’s two largest and best-known exhibition venues, Expocentre and Crocus Expo. In 2009, the event covered a staggering 150,000 square metres, showcasing products and services for the entire spectrum of building and interiors industries.
‘MosBuild’ is the collective name for six co-located exhibitions that focus on specific sectors of the industry. The ‘Buildex’ and ‘Cersanex’ exhibitions take place in Expocentre and cover product sectors such as building materials and equipment, hardware and tools, plumbing equipment, sanitary ware and ceramic products and machinery. At the same time, Crocus Expo hosts ‘MosInteriors’, ‘WindowBuild, ‘Stonex’ and ‘CountryLiving’, which demonstrate interior products and decorations, windows and door technologies, stone products, and country homes, landscaping and outdoor equipment. Each event within ‘MosBuild’ benefits from dedicated and joint promotion to maximise targeted publicity for all participating exhibitors.
Despite the ongoing global recession, bookings for the next edition of ‘MosBuild’ are strong. In fact, many international companies believe that this is the time to demonstrate their strength in the market, as Henri Hattingh from Tradewinds Parasol and Leisure explains: “The economic crisis is not a problem for us; I think it’s an opportunity to develop into new markets. I think it’s in bad times that you need to increase your market share… we have picked a good time to enter the market.”
Volker Guth from Deceuninck agrees and says that the financial downturn does not reflect the real demand in windows market, “Only 20% of modern window manufacturers are in Russia… In the near future, I believe there will be a turnaround point… and the demand for windows will pick up fast. As a windows business, we are here and ready for that moment!”
Confirmed exhibitors for the 2010 event include leading brands such as Hunter Plastics, Terreal, Trimo-VSK, Gessi spa, Newform, Devon & Devon, Emilceramica spa, Fincibec, SCP and many more. There will also be representations from Belgium, Canada, China, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, United Kingdom, USA and many more.
‘MosBuild’ is renowned for attracting huge numbers of trade visitors during the 4 days of the event, as Pawsey explains: “‘MosBuild’ continues to have a wide appeal to trade visitors who attend ‘MosBuild’ to meet the companies who are new to the market and are looking for distribution, as well as those who are already well established in Russia and are looking to strengthen their presence and promote their product range.”
